When I think about my mission - I remember it - in Russian - because that's how most of it happened. So I will use the words that are right and proper for my memories. I'll continuously update this Russian missionary dictionary, in alphabetical order. If there is something you don't understand, please ask questions.
Брат (beh, err, ah, teh) - this word means brother. It's pronounced braht : a as the only vowel is always ah - like Yacht, sought, there is no a like in brat, sat etc. The err is rolled (like as Ruffles have rrrridges), but in the back of the throat instead of the front of the mouth like in Spanish. If you are like me and can't roll your r's then you can flip your tongue once to give it an imitation roll.
Иисуса Христа (ee, ee, es, oo, es, ah, khca, err, ee, es, teh, ah) - this word means Jesus Christ. It's pronounced Eesoosa Hcriesta. Иисуса is stressed on the first и. You can still hear the second и. So it's two quick ee ees slurred together. Христа - for the Х imagine a cat hissing, do it yourself - your tongue close to the top of your mouth - but have it almost touching at the back of the mouth. Mix that hiss with the x from mexico in spannish.
Сестра (es, yeh, ehs, teh, err, ah) - this word means sister. It's pronounced sehstrah: c is always pronounced as a s, never like a k is in English sometimes. One of the vowels in a word is stressed and the others are not. Stressing the vowel changes how it sounds. In English think of...cam & came, lim & lime etc. So e is eh when unstressed and yeh when stressed. In this word the a is stressed and so the e is unstressed. sehstrah, instead of syehstra.
Старейшина (es, teh, ah, err, yeh, ee Kratkoi, shuh, ee, en, ah,) - ths word means elder. It's pronounced Staryeashina. I use Ст as an abbreiation. The stress is on the ей and the й (i kratkoi) changes the sound of the vowel it follows. ей is like a hard a in English, so stressed it would be yea.
